Richard Harmon

Richard L. Harmon was born on November 3, 1950 in New York City.  He is an American theatrical designer and educator. Recipient Audience Development Committee award for excellence in Black Theatre, 1991. Member United Scenic Artists.  He holds bot a BFA and an MFA from NYU (1973 & 74, respectively).

Career highlights include: Instructor, designer, technical director, U. Arkansas, Fayetteville, 1976-1978; visiting assistant professor, designer, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, 1978-1979; member of faculty, Parsons School Design, New York City, 1980-1981; visiting lecturer, designer, University of California, Santa Barbara, 1981-1982; visiting specialist in lighting design, William Paterson College, Wayne, New Jersey, 1983-1984; resident designer, New Federal Theatre, New York City, since 1984; production manager, New Federal Theatre, New York City, 1984-1985; designer, technical director, State University of New York, Old Westbury, 1985-1987; visiting assistant professor, designer, Bucknell U., Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, 1987-1988; assistant professor, designer, Hofstra U., Hempstead, New York, since 1989.
