Jack R. Marks (aka ‘Jackie R. Marks’) was born February 28, 1935, in New York. He made his first stage appearance in 1961 at the Beef ‘n’ Boards Theatre in Louisville, KY.
He was cast as the Gravedigger in Hamlet and Snug in a Midsummer Night’s Dream, both productions at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre in Lincoln Center. He’s worked mostly off-Broadway and in the regions, including (in New York) at the Public Theatre, Theatre de Lys, Perry Street Theatre, Jewish Repertory Theatre, and New Federal Theatre and (regionally) The Guthrie Theatre, Long Wharf Theatre, Goodspeed Opera House, Yale Repertory Theatre, Syracuse Stage, New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, Ford’s Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and much more.
Principal film appearances include: Annie Hall (1977), Eyes of Laura Mars (1978), Blood Brothers (1979) and Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981).
