Zebedee Collins started his career as a dancer with Shogolo Olaba (aka the Federal Theater African Dance Troupe). This photo is dated 1953. He is credited for Calypso Carousel (1958) at BAM as Choreographer, and appeared on Broadway in Kwamina (1961) as a dancer. He is credited as a Choreographer for DanceAfrica 1979, at BAM.
Later in his career he transitioned to lighting for live performances. He was credited as Lighting Operator at DanceAfrica 1978, and as lighting designer on several Off-Broadway plays during the 1980s. He was nominated for a 1983 Audelco Award for his lighting of Jesse and the Games.
