”A Thrill a Moment,” was a new musical revue built around the work of the veteran Motown songwriter William (Mickey) Stevenson. Though not as famous as the Motown songwriting and producing team of Holland-Dozier-Holland, Mr. Stevenson had a hand in creating a number of significant hits for the company in the early 1960’s. They include the Marvelettes’ ”Playboy” and ”Beechwood 4-5789,” the early Marvin Gaye hits ”Stubborn Kind of Fellow” and ”Pride and Joy,” and the Martha and the Vandellas song ”Dancing in the Street.” He also co-wrote Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels’ full-tilt 1966 hit ”Devil With a Blue Dress On.” All these songs were included in the show.
