Young, Brilliant, and On His Way to Hollywood

For Sidiki Fofana, the sky is not the limit. The 24-year-old actor has set himself up to soar, and now Hollywood is within reach.

Fofana has been featured in over 30 films. Some of which are: “Chaos Theory” by Levi’s, “Missing Picture,” “Celebrity Ghost Stories,” a major television show that aired on Lifetime 16 November 2013.

In his career, he auditioned for Nickelodeon, “Law and Order,” ” Blue Bloods,” FOX, Nike, just to name a few.

Fofana’s joy for acting stems from being deeply rooted in the character he plays, and having the privilege to network with actors who are as hungry as he is.

“One of my favorite films of all has to be “Deeper Than Rap,” Executive produced by Rick Ross, because it gave me some recognition in mainstream media,” Fofana confirmed. In the film, he plays a younger version of Rick Ross.

“Sidiki Fofana is a talented actor that knows how to get in a character and make you forget about Sidiki Fofana,” said actor and film producer Mohamed Dione. “He’s a chameleon!”

Some of his plays include, “Children of Killers” by Katori Hall, performed at the Castillo Theatre, “Legend of Buster Neal,” “Finding Home,” at The Billie Holiday Theatre,”Stain Glass,”at the Metropolitan Playhouse, “No Where In America,”at Kirk Theatre/ Keen Teens, and “No Place to Call Home,” at the Paul Robeson Theatre.

The talented Guinean-native actor has Carson-Kolker Agency and Avalon Artists Group under his wings to insure that he signs contracts that can get him featured in major networks.

On September 1992, Fofana’s life changed and it changed for the better. He left his hometown Guinea, Coya to settle in America, the land of opportunity.

Growing up in the Bronx, he always set himself apart from people his age. Parties were not his priority; he was in proximity to his books.

After having taken filmmaking courses at Bronx Community College (BCC), Fofana grew fond of acting, and has not shied away from cameras since.

Similar to every aspiring actor, Fofana, too, faced some challenges while indulging in a career that requires so much.

Even though he’s been acting since the age of 17, Fofana still gets nervous, but remains confident about the challenges that awaits him in the industry.

In the early stages of his acting career, Fofana would go to websites like Backstage Magazine, Craigslist, Show Business Weekly, submit his resume and photo –if he felt that he related to the role or pitch presented.

And, if the casting office liked his appearance and profile, the phone rang.

Nowadays, Fofana’s phone rings left and right. Because he is marketable, his agenda is always booked.

Given the success he’s had thus far, there’s no doubt that Fofana is an idol to many, but who are his idols?

“In life, my mom is my idol,” he said with pride. “She inspires me; she always encouraged me to keep going.”

In Hollywood, actors Mel Jackson and Gbenga Akinnagbe are his idols. ” They are already in Hollywood, so I can always call them for advice,” Fofana said with relief.

While it is every actor’s dream to buy a mansion once he makes it to Hollywood, Fofana’s dream, once he makes it to Hollywood, is to make sure that his family is equipped with everything they need, and to make an impact on the Guinean community, as well as African-American.

What’s next for the driven actor?

A productive year awaits Fofana. He is already booked to film seven films in 2014. He’ll be featured as lead actor in a film produced by Whoopi Goldberg, “True Love,” a film Executive produced by Shia LaBeouf, “Shock Therapy,” and “Dept to Society.”

Fofana is open to learning and bettering himself as an actor. He is currently taking a one-year Acting course at the Labyrinth Theatre Company.

Remember his name and face, because we will one day be in our homes watching him as he accepts an Oscar award.

“I will make it to Hollywood, it’s just a matter of time,” the young actor said with certainty.
