Petronia Paley is an American actress, director, playwright and teacher who was born on May 31, 1947 in Albany, Georgia.
Petronia majored in drama, and was President of the Drama Club, at Howard University; she hitched-hiked across North Africa at age 19.
Petronia has acted on TV’s Damages, Guiding Light, Another World, One Life to Live, and All My Children. She’s also acted on and off Broadway and in regional theaters.
Her solo-performance play “On the Way to Timbuktu” was nominated for five Innovative Theatre Awards: Nominated for two Innovative Theatre Awards, three Audelco Acting Awards, and won an Audelco Award for Best Solo Performance.
She received a Women of Color directing award with her first directing play “Can We Dance”.
