Peggy Alston is an actor and director.
Alston sang and acted in the 1979 off-Broadway show Mo’ Better Blues, initially understudying Thelma and then assuming the part for tours and revivals as late as 1984.
She went on to become a founding member of the Billie Holiday Theatre Company, as both director and actress. She appeared in the 1990 film The Exorcist III as the mother of a murdered boy. mainly on the stage, She also appeared in Sesame Street Episode 2184 (shushing Big Bird and finally getting up to leave).
