Margaret Odette is a Haitian American actor from Harlem, NYC. She earned her MFA at NYU Tisch Graduate Acting, and also studied at the British American Dramatic Academy in Oxford, England.
In 2019, Margaret became the first black woman to portray ‘Hero’ in Much Ado About Nothing for The Public Theater’s famed Shakespeare in the Park in Central Park. The all-black production was directed by Kenny Leon, and televised for PBS. Margaret’s debut feature film role in Sleeping with Other People premiered at Sundance and screened at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Margaret co-founded Homebase Theatre Collective, a community of playwrights, directors, and actors from Juilliard and NYU Tisch. She is the co-founder of GABB, a support group for Black womxn who’ve completed their MFA actor training at NYU Tisch. She sits on the board of The 52nd Street Project.
