Anthony Dixon

Anthony J. Dixon, former bass player, vocalist and songwriter for “NU-MATERYAL” on the Inner Circle Record Label in the early 90s, has produced commercial jingles for Cable TV, written and recorded songs. In addition, he produced concerts in support of new artists in collaboration with then partner, the great Saxophonist Curtis Bailey under the production name of “Curtone The Final Word.”

Dixon was sparked by the desire to chronicle a young woman’s evolving journey and challenges faced while maneuvering through life with modern media influences. He recorded how ultimately she makes her choices. Anthony called upon friend Sandra Barnes and held meetings with women of all ages for their perspectives. From there, “Futurology” the musical was born.

Anthony learned about the world of theater by working on projects with his cousin and award winning playwright and author, Paul Carter Harrison, in addition to Woodie King Jr., and Herman D. Farrell III HBOs Boycott and many others.

Born into a family of artists, Dixon’s inspiration was his Grandmother, Glady’ce Dejesus, a pioneer Rhythm & Blues songwriter with Décca Records. Her works have been recorded by Lionel Hampton, Louis Jordan and Dinah Washington to name a few.

Currently, Anthony is a Recruiter for the Coca-Cola Refreshment Company. Dixon feels that the aim of this work Futurology the Musical is to create an everlasting art that will entertain, resonate and continue to be told for the benefit of us all for generations to come.
