Amber took her first dance class at age three—she was the most committed “leaf in the wind” at the Takoma Park, MD dance studio—and moved to New York City after college to pursue her Broadway dreams. Within months, she booked her first role in a play, Diss Diss and Diss Dat, and joined Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
Today, Amber has Broadway, off-Broadway, television, and film credits. She was an original company member of Broadway’s Legally Blonde: The Musical and performed on MTV, NBC’s The TODAY Show, ABC’s The View, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the original cast album, and its first national tour.
Beyond Broadway, Amber’s credits include Wes Craven’s My Soul to Take, Netflix’s The Politician, HBO’s Show Me a Hero, NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura, Investigation Discovery’s Momsters, Working Out the Kinks, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, They’re Playing Our Song, Nothing Like a Dame, The Seven, Damn Yankees, ABK for Life, and Dreamgirls. She also performed during the ceremonies of the centennial Olympic Games, with Soweto Street Beat and the African Cultural Dance Company of Atlanta, and at Carnegie Hall with The New York Pops.
Amber enjoys sharing her love of dance with others. She taught musical theater and hip hop dance for the National Black Arts Festival and The School at Steps on Broadway. Her dance-based, group fitness classes at CRUNCH Fitness, including Gospel Aerobics and Street Stomp, were featured by NBC’s Your Total Health with Hoda Kotb, MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Blind Date, Reader’s Digest, fitness, and SELF.
Amber received her performance training through Harmony: Atlanta’s International Youth Chorus (voice), North Atlanta High School for the Performing Arts (dance), Broadway Theatre Project (musical theatre), Vernon Kimbrough (piano), Vernal Richardson (violin), The School at Jacob’s Pillow (dance), Howard University Bisonettes (dance), Steps on Broadway (dance, scholarship program), The William Esper Studio (acting), and Paul Lincoln (voice).
