John Freimann was the chairman of the Theater Department at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, for 30 years from 1962-92. “I taught Acting, Play production, Scenic design, I directed shows (six to ten a season) I designed sets and costumes (nine to ten shows a season) I ran the Dept. Very busy; but, I liked it. AND I met and worked with a wonderful and talented group of young people.”
He retired in 1992, but apparently acted occasionally thereafter.
He earned a BS in Drama from NYU in 1951, and an MFA from Fordham in 1955. Just prior to attending college, from 1945-47, he was. a messenger boy at Warner Brother’s studio.
