Edward M. Love Jr., a Broadway dancer, choreographer and former member of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, died on Dec. 27 at his home in Manhattan. He was 43 years old.
He died of AIDS, said his lawyer, Elliot J. Lefkowitz.
Mr. Love performed on Broadway in “Raisin,” “The Wiz,” “A Chorus Line” and “Dancin’.” He was seen in the films “To Kill a Cop” and “A Piece of the Action.” He did the choreography for the film “Hairspray.”
Mr. Love choreographed, directed and performed in seven Off Broadway productions, and he choreographed industrial shows, commercials and revues that toured Europe.
