John McCallum Jr., a pianist and musical director for Off Off Broadway and touring theatrical productions, died of a heart attack Monday at his home. He was 36 years old and lived in Manhattan.
Mr. McCallum toured as pianist with ”Ain’t Misbehavin’ ” in Latin America and with ”I Have a Dream” in Europe. He was musical director and pianist for ”In the House of the Blues” and ”Boogie Woogie and Booker T.,” in which he also acted. He was also the choir director and pianist at the Upper Madison Avenue United Methodist Church in Manhattan.
A native of Denver, Mr. McCallum received a bachelors degree from Antioch College and a masters degree from Long Island University.
