Gene Lakin graduated from Yale School of Drama in 1982. He is credited as Costume Designer for a 1983 production of Ah, Wilderness! at the Haft Theater, and designed costumes for a 1984 production of Hedda Gabler at the Tyrone Theater in Minneapolis.
Since 1994 he’s taught Fashion at the college level, starting as an Adjunct Professor at Fashion Institute of Technology, and is currently teaching at Parsons School of Design – The New School. He spent 8 years as a Guest Lecturer in fashion design in South Africa, and 3 years in China.
