Susan earned a scholarship at age 12 to the prestigious Chicago Art Institute, and became a working actress in Hollywood in her teens.
Discovered by legendary director/choreographer Jerome Robbins, who wrote, “A revelation – the damn best actress I’ve come across.”
She created the Susan Slavin Actors and Singers Academy at Carnegie Hall, where she is lauded in the Village Voice — “Foremost in the new generation of acting teachers following such legendary figures as Lee Strasberg and Stella Adler.”
