Gennaro Montanino

Gennaro Montanino had an active career in the 1960s and 70s in New York theatre. He had more than 100 theater productions to his credit, including award winning films and new plays. The Internet record is sketchy but, for example, he directed a new A.R. Gurney play at the Forum Repertory Theatre at Lincoln Center in 1971.

In the late 1970s he appears to have moved to LA where he made the transition to Assistant Director and Director for television and film, and directed at the Los Angeles Actor’s forum. He directed an episode of the original Battlestar Gallactica series, and four episodes of Barney Miller.

He taught Yale University and the American Academy of Dramatic Art. He was married for 35 years to actress Judith Gordan who died in 2001.
